The Charlestown Historical Society hosts events throughout the year for educating residents about the charming township.

Community-Centered Living

There is a strong sense of unity among the nearly 5,000 residents of Charlestown. Whether it's a community service event or a small get-together, Charlestown citizens are kind and welcoming.

Community events year-round help to join friends and neighbors together. Annual events in Charlestown include:

  • Rapp House Spring Work-Party
  • Charlestown Day
  • Charlestown Meadows Earth Day Walk
  • Trail Walks

Residents also stock Pickering Creek every year with trout to prepare for the opening day of trout season. Trout stocking takes place in Charlestown in March.

Charlestown friends and neighbors are able to keep up with community events using an annual town calendar and newsletter. The calendar showcases beautiful scenes of Charlestown and informs residents about local information and history.

Staying Active and Relaxed

Residents enjoy open spaces and trails throughout the town, and the off-road trails wind through the woods, beside Pickering Creek, and along farm fields. The notable Horse-Shoe Trail sweeps through Charlestown between Valley Forge Park and the Appalachian Trail.

The Charlestown Park has a tot lot, playing fields, basketball courts, and picnic pavilions in the 44-acre area. The large Brightside Farm has a natural grass trail and community garden.

Youth programs and soccer clubs are available in Phoenixville, right next door to Charlestown.
